What is the Biometrics Framework Contract?

UKvisas deliver a world class visa operation by balancing effective control of UK borders with a quality service to our customers. UKvisas use biometrics, an intelligence-led risk assessment process and enhanced training and supervision to improve the quality of decisions made by ECOs.

To enable the capture and process of Visa applicants’ biometric data, UKvisas has set up two frameworks:

• Steria (UK) Ltd for the supply of Biometric Recording Equipment, Verification Equipment and Hardware Maintenance, and
• Cogent, Inc for the supply of software and consultancy services.

As an authority party to the Steria (UK) Ltd framework agreement you will benefit from:

• access to the hardware catalogue with its highly competitive pricing;
• a dynamic framework catalogue to which new products can be added on request; and
• access to the Steria order desk, to manage quotes / orders and any warranty claims.
